Jason Derulo Cheyenne lyrics

I'm a little unsure how it got so complicated
If I let go I know I'll regret it
Every heart that I held before
I was sure to break it
I don't know what she did, but

I just can't stop thinking 'bout you every day
No, I can't stop now

Look what we started, baby
You're not what I expected
Cause all I ever wanted was some fun
Look what we started, baby
Used to look for exes
Cause all I ever wanted was some fun

I never meant to fall in love
I never meant to fall in lo-ove
I never meant to fall in love
I never meant to fall in lo-ove

Cheyenne
Got the table set for two
Guess you couldn't make it
Thought I kissed your lips again
I was dreaming
I still believe that night we shared was something sacred
I try to clear my head, but

I just can't stop thinking 'bout you every day
No, I can't stop now

Look what we started, baby
You're not what I expected
Cause all I ever wanted was some fun
Look what we started, baby
Used to look for exes
Cause all I ever wanted was some fun

I never meant to fall in love
I never meant to fall in lo-ove
I never meant to fall in love
I never meant to fall in lo-ove

Cheyenne, Cheyenne
Cheyenne, Cheyenn

I just can't stop thinking 'bout you every day
No, I can't stop now

Look what we started darling
You're not what I expected
Cause all I ever wanted was some fun
Look what we started darling
I used to look for exits
Cause all I ever wanted was some fun
I never meant to fall in love
(cheyenne)
I never meant to fall in lo-ove
(cheyenne)
I never meant to fall in love
(cheyenne)
I never meant to fall in lo-ove
(cheyenne)

I never meant to fall in love
I never meant to fall in lo-ove
I never meant to fall in love
I never meant to fall in lo-ove

Overview

Cheyenne is a song recorded by American artist Jason Derulo. Cheyenne was released on June 30th, 2015 as the second single for Derulo’s fourth studio album, Everything Is 4. The song has been written by Jason Derulo in collaboration with eight other artists including Sam Martin and Robin Weisse. Cheyenne is produced by The Monsters and the Strangerz and Ian Kirkpatrick. Cheyenne opened at №66 on the Billboard Hot 100 list and peaked at №21 on the US Mainstream Top 40. The song hit №42 on Canadian Hot 100 and №25 on Australia’s ARIA chart. Despite the rankings, the song has been more favorably reviewed than the first single “Want to Want Me” from his new album.

Jason Derulo describes Cheyenne as a woman who has been haunting his mind. The accompanying video for the single, described by Derulo as “a short film”, carries the haunted theme while paying an ode to legends like Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson. In terms of the song itself, Derulo confirmed that the subject Cheyenne was not a figment of his imagination but a ghost of his distant past. Derulo, who came in to his own in 2010 with the hit single “In My Head”, quickly climbed the ladder of chart music in 2014 with massive hits in the shape of “Talk Dirty to Me” and “Wiggle”. Cheyenne, however, has failed to land the same punch as the singles from his previous album. It remains, however, too early to tell how the rest of Derulo’s fourth album will fare.
